Destinations
 The coast of Liguria is washed by the limpid Mediterranean Sea, and offers to the tourist a great variety of places and panoramas.
From the prestigious Portofino, one of the most famous destinations of Italian and foreign tourists, to the uncontamined nature of Cinque Terre, the five small villages built on capes or in very small creeks; from Genoa, the main city, with its colorful alleys and the big port, to Riviera dei Fiori ( Coast of the Flowers ), characterized by the great number of greenhouses where every type of flower is cultivated, to Riviera delle Palme ( Coast of the Palms ) , with romantic walking routes on the sea.
The region is usually subdivided in two areas: the Riviera di Levante, east of Genoa, and the Riviera di Ponente, the western part.
