Voltri

Voltri is a part of the city of Genoa; it is situated in the most northern point of Liguria gulf, and geographically it is in the middle between the Riviera di Ponente and the Riviera di Levante.

In Voltri there are three of the beaches of Genoa, where bathing is permitted, the historical center is colorful, with beautiful churches and ancient palaces, but those who are here in vacation have to visit the Villa Brignole Sale Duchessa di Galliera, a noble villa on the Castellaro hill, dated the 17th century. The international reputation of the ancient villa belongs above all to the 1800's. The park of the villa extends for approximately 32 hectares. It is constituted by a italian garden with a charming panorama on the sea, and by a grassy space where there is an enclosure for the deer, the real attraction of the park. Out of the park there are two churches: the convent of San Francesco, now abandoned, and the Sanctuary of the Madonna delle Grazie (entitled also to San Nicoḷ) on the top of the hill.
