Varazze is situated in a wide creek between the Punta della Mola and the Punta dell'Aspera, and offers a seaside promenade, 5 km long, called "Lungomare Europa", that goes until Cogoleto.
The most ancient medieval nucleus (of the 11th century), that stretches between the river Teiro and the current Via Buranello, was surrounded by walls.
Today we can see a part of the walls and some towers of the Middle Ages and the facade (12th century) of the ancient parish church of Sant'Ambrogio. In the picturesque historical center there are narrow roads and small places, with shops and the noble Palaces.
In Varazze various sports can be practiced and in the summer many exhibitions and cultural shows are organised. The city, beyond to one of the longer seaside promenade of Europe, proposes also beautiful natural routes starting from the Mount Beigua.
