San Bartolomeo al Mare
The territory of San Bartolomeo al Mare is divided mainly in three hamlets: San Bartolomeo, Pairola and Chiappa; the historical center of the town is picturesque. Here there are: the parish church dedicated to San Bartolomeo, dated to the Middle Ages, even if the earthquake of 1887 cancelled the original architectonic style, only the bell tower is of the 14th century, and the Oratorio of San Michele.
A beautiful walk to do is in the Public Gardens of San Bartolomeo, where there are numerous tropical plants and also typical plants of the coast; from the tree-lined avenue on the sea a splendid panorama can be enjoyed.
The beaches of San Bartolomeo are sandy and have a low depth; here there is the possibility to practice many sports, not only the water sports.
The night of Ferragosto (15 August), there is the wonderful typical parade of boats.
